About Kelsey Kraemer
Welcome to Guiding Roots! I am an approved LPC supervisor in the state of Alaska and also hold the Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) credential with the NBCC. I am an Assistant Professor of Counseling at the University of Alaska Fairbanks for both Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling degrees. My passion is guiding up-and-coming counselors in developing their professional counseling identity, and I do so through a Humanistic Teaching and Supervision Philosophy. My approach to supervision is built on empathy, genuineness and unconditional positive regard. It is my goal to provide a safe space without judgment. It is important to me to encourage self-reflection and autonomy through a collaborative approach. I prioritize a focus on my supervisees' growth and developmental holistically. In supervision sessions, this might involve exploring a supervisee's feelings about their clients, practicing self-awareness, and promoting empowerment in who they are as a counselor.
